Q&A System

Bountied questions, best answers, real reputation

Attach a reputation bounty to a hard question, draw specialist answers, accept the best one, and let the answerer earn the bounty.

What it does

Built for the way research actually happens

The Q&A system is the engine that drives knowledge exchange in the Lounge. Ask a hard research question, attach a reputation bounty to draw specialist answers, and let the community vote on the responses. You accept one as the best answer and the answerer earns the bounty as reputation.

Best answers are pinned to the question for future readers, so the same question does not need to be asked twice. Reputation earned this way is visible on the profile and unlocks trust badges over time — Curator, Specialist, Mentor, and Elder — that signal expertise to the wider network.

How it works

Three steps from idea to outcome

1

Ask the question

Post your research question with context and an optional reputation bounty.

2

Vote and discuss

The community votes on answers, asks clarifying questions, and discusses trade-offs.

3

Accept the best

Pick the answer that helped most. The bounty transfers and the answer is pinned.

Why it matters

Benefits that compound

  • Attach reputation bounties to draw specialist answers
  • Community voting plus owner-accepted best answer
  • Reputation accrues to your profile and unlocks badges
  • Best answers are pinned to the question for future readers
